Vipulkumar Prajapati, MD, is the Associate Director of Transfusion Medicine and Apheresis Services and an Assistant Professor of Pathology at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System.
Dr. Prajapati graduated from P.D.U. Medical College, Rajkot, India, and completed post-graduation training in Human Anatomy at B.J. Medical College, Ahmedabad, India. He worked as an Assistant Professor of Anatomy before moving to the United States to pursue a residency in Pathology. He completed his Clinical Pathology residency, Hematopathology Fellowship, and Transfusion Medicine Fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio. During the fellowship training, he was honored with the Rolf Sjuve Scott Award - 2023.
Dr. Prajapati's clinical and research interests are alloimmunization, red cell exchange, and CAR-T cell therapy. He is one of the authors of “Ace the Boards - Hematopathology Review MCQ” and a reviewer of the “Ace the Boards - Neoplastic Hematopathology”. He enjoys teaching and working with medical students and residents, and likes to make a positive difference in their lives.
