Vipulkumar Prajapati, MD is currently an Associate director of Transfusion Medicine and Apheresis Services at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Dr. Prajapati graduated from P.D.U. Medical College, Rajkot, India and completed post-graduation training in Human Anatomy at B.J. Medical College, Ahmedabad, India. He worked as an Assistant Professor of Anatomy before moving to United States to pursue Residency in Pathology. Dr. Prajapati completed Clinical Pathology residency, Hematopathology Fellowship and Transfusion Medicine Fellowship from University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio. During the fellowship training he was honored with “Rolf Sjuve Scott Award - 2023”. 

His clinical and research interests are Rh alloimmunization, red cell exchange, stem cell collection and CAR-T cell therapy. Dr. Prajapati is one of the authors of Ace the boards - Hematopathology Review MCQ book and reviewer of Ace the boards - Neoplastic Hematopathology book. He enjoys teaching and working with medical students and residents and likes to make a positive difference in student’s life.
