Dr. Miguel Rufail is an Assistant Professor of Pathology at Virginia Commonwealth University. He received his MD degree from the Catholic School of Cordoba in Argentina, and his PhD from the Department of Biochemistry at Virginia Commonwealth University. He completed Anatomical and Clinical Pathology residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He posteriorly completed fellowships in Cytopathology at the University of Michigan and Surgical Pathology at Pennsylvania Hospital.
Dr. Rufail practiced Pathology at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health and at Jefferson Health in Pennsylvania before becoming an Assistant Professor in Pathology at VCU Health.
Currently, he serves in the Breast Pathology; Gastrointestinal and liver Pathology; and Cytopathology services in the division of Anatomic Pathology at VCU Health. He has published original articles in all these areas and teaches residents, fellows and medical students at VCU.
