Anatomic Pathology Research Services
The APRS laboratory provides the members of the VCU community the opportunity to incorporate the benefits of the completed list of processes in their individual research projects. The APRS laboratory is housed in the Anatomic Pathology (AP) laboratory in the Department of Pathology and it is supported by excellent facilities. The fully equipped AP laboratory includes: tissue processors, automatic staining machines for H&E, special staining (Artisan) and immunohistochemistry (IHC).
Histology services for basic researchers:
The APRS laboratory offers a full range of histology services for researchers, including special staining and IHC. Services are available at a per-slide rate, or special arrangements may be made to charge supplies and effort directly to a research project.
Investigators who will be using human tissue from the Anatomical Pathology Laboratory need to bring the corresponding form signed by the IRB approved research protocol.
The APRS mission is to provide the researcher the guidance and advice to ensure that research projects run more smoothly and efficiently.
We are committed to:
- Supply with the highest quality of stains (H&E, special and immuno) and interpretation
- Provide our tests and techniques for translational, clinical, and basic science research
The Division of Anatomical Pathology provides an extensive number of immunohistochemistry tests but also can accommodate the workflow for specific antibodies provide by the researchers.
