Cancer Research Scientist

Cancer Research Faculty Position - Seeking a candidate to conduct research on examining the role of hormone signaling and cross-talk in responsive tissues. Director of Hematopathology

The successful candidate will be certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology and Hematopathology. This individual will instruct medical students, participate in the training of residents and fellows, and actively participate in the strong academic interactions with Molecular Pathology, the VCU Massey Cancer Center, and the Hematology Malignancy and Bone Marrow Transplant Program. Expertise in molecular diagnostics, flow cytometry, and lymph node pathology is preferred. This faculty member will direct a busy hematology laboratory, which includes sections for body fluids analysis as well as a high volume bone marrow and lymph node diagnostic service. Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU is required. Division Chair, Cellular and Molecular Pathogenesis

Degree requirements include PhD, MD, or MD/PhD. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a rigorous externally-funded research program in cancer biology, broadly defined, to complement the basic and translational research activities in the Department of Pathology and the VCU Massey Cancer Center. Specifically, we seek a candidate to conduct research on examining the role of hormone/growth factor signaling and cross-talk in responsive tissues. All applicants should have well recognized peer-reviewed publications and national funding. Hematopathologist

The Department of Pathology at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine invites applications from outstanding hematopathologists who are qualified for a tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor.
